Sports News Report

High 5 Netball Tournament

·          On Wednesday 18th March two teams from Shorne consisting of boys and girls from Classes 5 & 6 took part in the High 5 Netball Tournament at Mayfield School.  Everyone had a great time and we are pleased to report that Team A came in third place and Team B came in fifth place.

Netball Tournament

·            On Saturday 28th March the Annual Netball Rally was held at Riverview Park Junior School.  Our school team consisted of girls from Class 6 and Keira in Class 5.  Well done to everyone who played.

Football News

·           The school football team have won the Sullivan Shield!  On Monday 30th March we played in the final against Painters Ash. It was a very close game but we managed to win 1-0! The team played very well and we are pleased to have come away as the winners of the shield.  Mr. Woodcock is extremely proud of the achievements of the team this year and would like to thank all the parents who have supported the team on those cold windy days!

  Quicksticks Hockey Tournament

·           On Wednesday 22th April a group of two mixed teams  from Classes 5 & 6 took part in the Quicksticks Hockey Tournament at Gravesend Hockey Club.  Team B came in sixth place and Team A won in their group and went on to play Shears Green in the final.  It was a very exciting close game and we are pleased to report that Shorne won 5-4.  This was a fantastic achievement and means that the team go on to represent Gravesham in the Kent School Games on Thursday 25 June, venue and time to be confirmed.

Tag Rugby Festival

·           On Wednesday 29th April two mixed teams from Classes 5 & 6 took part in the Tag Rugby Festival at the Old Gravesendians Rugby Football Club.  Team B came third in their group and Team A came first in their group and went on to play Meopham Community Academy in the final.  Unfortunately they lost 4-1 but still get the opportunity to play alongside Meopham in the Kent School Games on Thursday 11th June, venue and time to be confirmed.
